Lisa Hyatt Cooper - Why I Vote

I first started voting because I was raised in a culture of civic engagement. I've never not wanted to vote. But I've sometimes been dismayed at the difficulty of finding and identifying good, honest information on candidates, and I can understand why potential voters get put off by that and by the feeling that their vote won't make a difference. However, one of my main motivations these days is the very fact that voting doesn't make the kind of difference it should. Many players in the system work hard to make sure my vote won't count, so I'm working as hard as I can to change the system so those players can be removed from office. My vote AND YOUR VOTE are the only way it's going to happen. Let's band together for the common good.
